Handmade Christmas Gifts
This year we had decided to make most of our Christmas gifts. Not only to save some cash, but create a personal and unique gifting experience for our friends and family.
They turned out amazing and were so well received that I thought I will share the ideas in this blog post. I have taken the photos of results and have linked the tutorials and inspiration that has led me to these creations. Enjoy!
Personalised Christmas Baubles
These made such a great gifts for children! They were excited to hang them on the tree and were happy to see their names in this beautiful style.
I taught a Christmas Bauble Workshop on these in December, however you can use your handwriting and a black marker to have a go. If you are interested in learning brush lettering, check out our beginners starter kits.
Wire Wrapped Crystal Necklaces
These turned out to be the favourite gifts!
You can pick your own raw crystals in any colour to make the gift even more personal.

Kiwi and Lime Jam
This turned out to be an absolute treat! All you need are a few ingredients and lots of jars!
Click HERE for the recipe I used.
You can finish off the look with hand lettered labels and gift tags. Have a look at our upcoming modern calligraphy workshops to learn to letter in this style!
Marble Effect Jewellery Dishes
These were so much fun to make, and it was a good excuse to go to Hobbycraft to gather all the materials!
I gifted them together with the necklace as they compliment one another so well!
I found this tutorial on Becki Clark’s Instagram Stories, she made it look so easy so I gave it a try!
Boho Macrame Coasters
They are spot on for somebody who is moving into a new home! You only need to learn one knot to make these - once you master the square knot it flows very easy from there.
Click HERE for a video tutorial I used to make four of these gorgeous coasters!
Bath Salts
Isn’t this a ‘guaranteed happiness’ kind of gift? Who doesn’t like a good reason for a self care and relaxation?
I know I would!
I found this tutorial for a salt mix using Himalayan and Epsom Salts. You can add dried flowers, lavender and essential oils of your choice. Epsom salts have plenty of health benefits, they are rich in Magnesium and soothe tired and tense muscles. What a treat!
Add a wooden spoon and a rustic tag for a handmade look.
Macrame Plant Hanger
These have turned out very pretty and make such a nice home decor! It’s all coming back from the 70’s and macrame is so trendy at the moment.
I found this tutorial on Skillshare. You only need to learn 2 knots to make this, perfect for beginners!

I bought succulents from my local florist, and I find that brown pots look the best with the white macrame thread.
I hope you enjoyed reading this and these ideas will be useful for the future gifting occasions!
Would love to see your creations in the comments below.
